Strictly speaking, it is a type of black porcelain—bowl-shaped, with a wide, flaring rim, fired at high temperatures using iron-rich glazes. Yet, in our eyes, it represents the most exquisite expression of "uncertainty."The outward-curving rim of the Tenmoku bowl embodies the wisdom of the ancients—a design intended to regulate the temperature of the tea within. However, its most captivating quality lies precisely in its "uncontrollability." Within the fiery kiln, natural minerals evolve to create their own unique microcosms.
